As a young man in 1982, I was spellbound by the presence of a flashy horse, with long white bandages around his legs...... the jockey was wearing bright lime and navy hooped silks and the horse cantered past me with such a presence
I will never forget the barnstorming finish that this horse possessed - his name was SHOWMERAN and i will always be thankful for those early days watching him race.

Whilst I cant find any vision of his racing days, he was a popular horse that won or placed in 13 of his 29 starts.
You can see from the record that he was the second best horse to race in Australia for imported stallion Comeram.
Here is the only footage i can find of him, where he runs home for a close 3rd in the G1 Marlboro Cup.
Thank you Showmeran and jockey Gary Doughty.... a horse that made me fall in love with racing.
