The preponderant buyers that swagger around the yearling stalls, are the envy of all digital publications that laud them for their buying power, knowledge and ability to affect the stallion price/popularity plus generate record high yearling sales prices….. they are the best judges, that select the best horses.
The attached numbers are your cue to “take a bow”
After analysing 730+ highest priced individual yearlings at all 28 major sales over the last 4 years, the losses of the “highest priced” are enormous.
✔️ I am delighted to advise that the next 3 sets of reports in the “coming weeks” are fantastic.
◻️The group and listed winners from each sale [enormous positive numbers]
◻️The cluster of sold horses $125k to $199k [nice ROI ratios]
◻️The cluster of sold horses $70 to $124k [nice ROI ratios]
❌ However, the huge proportion of the this first report - “top priced yearlings” have an atrocious race record.
Information in the reports:
▪️All data has been converted to Australian dollars, exchange rates used:
NZD x 0.93
HKD x 0.20
▪️The ratio is based on the only two constant’s of sales/racing:
The sales price is known
The prize money earned is known [data as of mid April 25’]
Its the only guaranteed equation “ dollars earned / dollars cost “, without knowing variable costs of training fees, vet fees, insurance, transport etc…..
Measured as a ratio with 1.0 or better being break even to profit.
